Welcome to another episode of CrunchTime with D! It’s been pretty hard to review eateries with the current state of affairs. But, over the next weeks and months, I will #eatlocal, reviewing takeout menus of local establishments, do cooking demos, and even record live sessions with select fans on IG/FB and Zoom.
Now, as you probably remember, I did a ‘preview’ on Ocean235 a while back, and I promised to return to do a full review. Well, right in the middle of the process, COVID happened across the US, and I could not finish. Regardless, I had to give you the low-down on what I experienced at this restaurant.
Ocean235 is in Easton, PA. They are purveyors of fine American dining. For the review, I decided to take my friend Trent Mason there for a business meeting. It was his first time visiting the Lehigh Valley, so I wanted him to have a great experience. He was not let down!
We had a great waitress, Sophia Blanchet, who was very warm, friendly, and inviting, and played a big part in our experience! She provided excellent suggestions from the menu.
We started off with the Octopus Bruschetta with Baguette Toast, Heirloom Tomato Salad, Capers, and a Lemon Vinaigrette. I also had a plate of amazing mussels!
For the entree, I had Monkfish wrapped in prosciutto over couscous with asparagus! Let me tell you: this dish was absolutely #DLicous! All 10,000 of my tastebuds were extremely happy! Honestly, I let Trent taste it, and – literally – I thought he was going to fall out of his seat!
Now Trent had the Ocean Burger with Blue Cheese, Bacon, Aioli, Fried Egg, Tomatoes, and Fries. It was cooked perfectly. Actually, I could have a bite of that right now!
All of our portions were very generous portions! And the drinks were great! I had a manhattan.
This place is consistent, and will – again – get my #pictureworthy hashtag! Shout out to the staff of Ocean235 for providing an enjoyable experience! Well done! Thank you, Sophia, for all of your help! I will most certainly visit again, and I invite you all to check out their current menu. Remember to #eatlocal – support your local restaurants.
Stay tuned. Soon, I’ll hit the kitchen to create one of my favorite desserts. You may get a personal invite to share in the experience!
